In this area it can be a little difficult to get a Neighborhood Watch Program
started..
What it needs is a person or group in a neighborhood that truly believe in
the project, and are willing to go out and make contact with their neighbors to
get them interested.
Once you have a good number of neighbors interested in attending a meeting,
set up a date, time, and location, then contact me. I will come to the meeting
and speak to the group to explain how neighborhood watch works.
The way I promote neighborhood watch in this area is by trying to raise
everyone's awareness level as they are driving in and out of their neighborhood.
I also supply some "Do it yourself home security tips" pamphlets.
To qualify and be recognized as a Neighborhood Watch area there needs to be a
minimum of 50% participation from the residents. Which simply means that if you
get at least half of your neighbors to come out for a meeting, the Sheriff's
Department will supply you with a sign that can be placed at an entrance to the
neighborhood. We can also supply you with the information to purchase more signs
if you need them.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me either by e-mail or
phone.
