Approaching & Passing a Stationary Emergency Vehicle

Upon approaching and passing a stationary authorized emergency vehicle where their visual emergency lights have been activated and at least two (2) adjacent lanes proceeding in the same direction of the emergency vehicle, the driver approaching shall yield the right-of-way by moving into a lane at least one (1) moving lane or two (2) vehicles widths apart from the emergency vehicle, unless otherwise directed by a police officer.

If movement into an adjacent lane is not possible due to weather, road conditions, presence of other vehicles or pedestrians the approaching vehicle shall reduce and maintain a safe speed and proceed with due care and caution.
